Foodbank donate date coming up

The Glasgow South East Foodbank has issued another appeal for food donations ahead of the next big collection
event.

The foodbank provides three days worth of emergency food to southsiders in crisis from bases in Govanhill Elim Church and Netherauldhouse Evangelical Church.

Organisers say that it is “especially necessary at this time of year when people may have to choose between heating and food.

“Although we did receive many donations over the Christmas period, we constantly require to replenish our stocks.

“We especially require tinned fruit, meat, vegetables, fish, custard/rice pudding and dried or UHT milk.”

The next collection takes place at Sainsbury’s on Clarkston Road on Saturday, January 31 from 9.30am-5.30pm, and all donations are welcome.
