Free advice at energy and wellbeing event

AN ENERGY Best Deal and Wellbeing Event is being held in Cumbernauld New Town Hall on Friday, April 19, between 10am and 2pm.

The free event is being hosted by SNP MSP Jamie Hepburn in conjunction with Citizens Advice Bureau Scotland.

Members of the public attending the event will be able to speak to Mr Hepburn, and representatives from the Citizens Advice Bureau, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Unemployed Workers Centre, North Lanarkshire Women’s Aid and Cumbernauld Action Care for the Elderly (CACE).

Energy providers such as Scottish Power and Scottish Hydro will also be on hand to offer specific advice regarding the best energy deals available to individuals.

Students from Cumbernauld College will be showcasing the skills of their restaurant Taste, and the hair and beauty salon within the college Fusion.

The students will be offering hand massages, food samples and hair styling.

Peak Fitness 4 U will be offering BMI checks, bone density tests, and health and fitness advice.

Scottish Fire and Rescue will be available to provide fire safety tips.

Mr Hepburn is strongly encouraging the people of Cumbernauld and Kilsyth to attend the event and make sure they utilise the advice and support on offer, an take advantage of the free services that will generously be provided.

He said: “I am aware that Citizens Advice Bureau has helped organise similar events across Scotland which have been widely regarded as successful and I hope that the Energy Best Deal and Wellbeing Event in Cumbernauld New Town Hall, will offer the same well received assistance to the people of Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.

“I would like to extend an open invitation to all my constituents, both individuals and groups across Cumbernauld and Kilsyth and hope that they will enjoy joining me at the Energy Best Deal and Wellbeing Event.”
