Free concert at Cumbernauld New Town Hall

The H.M Resurrected event has been arranged by Ignite, a group made up of youth leaders of churches across Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.

Organiser Rachel Gibson (25) spoke of her expectations for the event: “We are expecting numbers between 250-300 young people, that is our target.

“Our monthly youth services started back in 2011, and they have been well attended.

“We have been attending school assemblies to let them know about the event as well as using social media such as Facebook to help promote it and engage with the young people.

“This has given us a lot of very good feedback.”

The group have been engaging with the young people of the local area over the last year and are now running monthly youth services, as well as weekly surgeries.

“I visit four different schools each week to have lunch clubs with the pupils,” Rachel said.

“This allows us to help the young people with any issues or worries that they are facing, including things such as bullying.”

The concert aims to help young people engage with the meaning of Easter in a unique way, through music, dance and drama.

Rachel added:“The young people can expect a really great night where they can enjoy the music but also be challenged.

“They can experience God in ways that they may not have had the chance to before.

“It’s extremely important for us to bring people together.

“We are focused on unity and relationships within the community, so it’s very important that we help create peace,” she added.

H.M Resurrected Event will take place on Sunday, April 1 at the Cumbernauld New Town Hall at 7pm. Entry on the night is free, with no tickets needed.
