Free Twechar fun day on Monday

It will feature mobile bike ramps and cycling tuition sessions, Joanne’s beasties and reptiles, facepainting, bouncy castles, an outdoor portable football pitch, arts and crafts and more besides.

Then on Friday (October 21), as part of the centre’s anniversary celebrations, Paul Carter from the Friends of Kelvin Valley will stage a guided walk (starts 2.30pm) through Shirva Glen along the Forth and Clyde Canal, with a viewing of Twechar Marsh before returning to the centre for 4pm.

An interesting walk is guaranteed, as Paul has a great knowledge of the area’s heritage, including its wildlife and mining.

All are welcome (arrive at the centre for 2pm) but children must be accompanied by an adult.
