Fundraiser Anita to wingwalk for Maggie’s Centre
Anita (46), of Unitas Crescent, will be harnessed to a plane travelling 500ft above the ground in Gloucestershire on June 25.
The Tesco customer services worker is doing the terrifying challenge to raise money for Maggie’s Centre, as a tribute to her best friend Ann Graham who died of lung cancer aged 49 in 2011.

“This wing walk will be more terrifying as I won’t have an instructor with me. I’ll be on my own outside the plane, with just the pilot inside.
“What’s quite daunting is that I’ll only get an hour’s training on the day of the wing walk to prepare for it.
“But I hope that the plane is going fast while I’m doing the wing walk as I like a challenge.”

As an added bonus, Anita has arranged for actor Ashley Taylor-Dawson – who plays Darren in Hollyoaks – to play in the charity match (kick-off noon) and then appear later at the bowling club.
