Gardens open up

TWO of Kilsyth’s most beautiful private gardens will be opened to the public as part of Scotland’s Gardens Day on Sunday, May 20.

‘Aeolia’ and ‘Blackmill’ in Allanfauld Road will be open to the public from 2-5pm, with the admission price of £5 providing entrance to both gardens plus home-made afternoon tea. There will also be a plant stall available.

Both gardens display a wide range of choice specimen flowers, plants and even ponds at Blackmill.

The event will also raise cash for charity with 40 per cent of cash raised going to Strathcarron hospice. There is a toilet available and wheelchair access to parts of Blackmill, however, there is no vehicle access up Allanfauld Road (other than disabled).

Visitors are advised to park at Neilston Walk or Parkburn Road or come on foot, then follow the yellow signs to the gardens.
