Girls swap catwalk for dogwalk

Rescue dogs at Dogs Trust Glasgow Rehoming Centre enjoyed a special treat when they were visited by glamorous beauty queens- Sarah Pitt, the current Miss Galaxy Scotland, and Robyn Ferguson - Miss Teen Galaxy Scotland.

The girls swapped the catwalk for the dogwalk as they spent the afternoon getting to know the adorable residents of the centre’s new Puppy Palace.

Sarah and Robyn were lucky enough to be greeted by a litter of eight-week-old Terrier cross terrier puppies. The pups were brought to the centre when their owner could sadly no longer afford to keep them and passed them to Dogs Trust to find loving homes.

Philip McCarlie-Davis, Dogs Trust Glasgow Rehoming Centre Manager, said: “We were delighted to welcome two beauty queens to add some regal charm to the Puppy Palace.

“The palace has already seen its first success story – just a week after being brought to the centre these lucky puppies have gone from paupers to princes in the palace and have all found loving homes. We have plenty more gorgeous girls and boys of all shapes and sizes desperate to find the loving homes they deserve.”

Sarah Pitt said:“I love dogs and was absolutely smitten with the puppies in the palace. Part of my role as Miss Galaxy Scotland is to be a goodwill ambassador and I hope that my visit will help raise awareness of all the good work done by Dogs Trust staff and help find homes for all the dogs we met today.”
