The golden couples of Cumbernauld

The News and Chronicle reported last week that Lanarkshire couples who reached 50 years of marriage celebrated the milestone at annual reception organised by county councils.

The annual Golden Wedding Anniversary reception was held in Motherwell Concert Hall recently, attracting 125 couples who married in 1963.

Representing the town at the reception were Margaret and David Gowans, of Birch Road, Abronhill; Johan and Donald Masterton, Medlar Road, Abronhill, and Christine and George Woolford, of Redburn Road, Whitelees.
