Golfers pitch in for Craighalbert Centre

BIG-HEARTED companies put fundraising to the FORE last week as they took part in the 13th Craighalbert Golf Classic at Dullatur Golf Club.

The annual outing is a key fundraising event for the Scottish Centre for Children with Motor Impairments and it raised 4,890.

The centre is a grant aided special school, which offers education, therapy and support to children and families from across Scotland affected by cerebral palsy and similar conditions.

Football pundit and former Scotland international Alan Rough joined the Craighalbert team, which was captained by Pat Salter, the centre's director, and the coveted Craighalbert rose bowl went to the MOD Police from RNAD Coulport.

Kirsten Bruce, marketing and fundraising manager for the Craighalbert Centre, said: "The Golf Classic is a real highlight in our fundraising calendar.

"We are absolutely delighted that this year's event raised an impressive 4,890.

"We are really grateful to this year's teams for their support and to Semichem for sponsoring the Craighalbert team's participation.

"We would also like to thank our volunteers who helped out on the day."
