Guild artefact turns up at Irish boot sale

A SILVER tray presented by a historic group has turned up in Condorrat 80 years on - after being snapped up in a car boot sale in Northern Ireland!

The tray bears the motto ‘‘Presented to Mrs R Jack from the Condorrat Church Womens Guild in appreciation of her services as Convener’’

Yet for reasons unknown it migrated to Northern Ireland eventually ended up for sale at a bric-a-brac event in County Down.

By a series of coincidences, though, the tray was reunited with the Condorrat Guild in this their 90th anniversary year, via secretary Mary Innes, and was proudly displayed at the anniversary celebrations last month.

Now the Guild is keen to track down the tray’s original recipient.
