AN 18-YEAR-OLD gundog trainer has become the youngest person in the UK to win a novice trial event – in his first attempt.

AN 18-YEAR-OLD gundog trainer has become the youngest person in the UK to win a novice trial event – in his first attempt.

Lewis MacNeill and his trusty four-year-old black Labrador won the event in Perthshire.

Former Cumbernauld High pupil Lewis said: “I just couldn’t believe it when I won, I was just looking forward to taking part in my first trial!”
