Jobs bonanza at new bus base in Cumbernauld
The bus firm will move its Blochairn-based operation to its existing garage in Glencryan Road next month and has now launched a search for staff.
And the list of roles involved will testify to the sheer scale of the new operation.

Hide AdDrivers, electricians, coachbuilders, cleaners and shunting staff are all being sought at the garage which currently acts as a mini-depot.
And it has also emerged that this will also be the base for new driver training school which will make a new generation of drivers roadworthy on some of Scotland’s busiest roads.
A spokeswoman for Stagecoach West Scotland confirmed: “We are actively recruiting for staff to fill a number of roles at our new Cumbernauld depot.
“We have 218 staff at our current Glasgow depot and our priority is to resettle as many of our existing staff to our new Glencryan Road site.

Hide Ad“We are currently in the process of discussions with staff and trade union representatives on the outcome of these will dictate the level of staff required.
“We will continue to invest in our Cumbernauld operations and plan to establish a driver training school to provide PCV training to non PCV licence holders.”
