Jobs boost at new hotel spa in Cumbernauld

The Westerwood Hotel is investing £500,000 to extend its spa and leisure facilities.

And its backers at Q Hotels say that the move will create 10 new jobs for therapists and receptionist staff.

The investment will create three new treatment rooms, an extended relaxation area, increased locker space and 24 hour access to changing facilities.

And in a bid to emulate Arabian- style mud baths, a so-called Rasul will be created on the premises.

A ‘pop up’ restaurant is also being created exclusively for spa-goers, so they need not leave the area if they fancy a bite to eat - or a tipple.

Work is now underway and is expected to be completed by the end of August

Delighted hotel manager Paul Bray said: “It has been great to see the demand for spa increase and we feel that it is the perfect time to expand the spa and really hone in on spa and wellness.

“The renovation will enhance the spa journey for our guests and provide high quality facilities to match our high quality service.”

The Westerwood, which is the town’s only four star hotel, is actively marketing itself as an alternative to hotels in Glasgow city centre.

It has a special appeal too for visiting golf nuts, with its 18-hole championship golf course and can also cater for up to 400 conference delegates.
