Kayaking lessons on Cumbernauld’s Broadwood Loch launched

THE WEATHER forecast doesn’t bode well as the school holidays fast approach.

But since the summer drizzle means the kids will get soaked playing outside anyway, why not let them try their hand at a watersport?

Kayaking lessons are being run by North Lanarkshire Leisure at Broadwood Loch and Strathclyde Park for youngsters aged between 8 and 11 years old.

Russell Daniels, Scotland’s only canoeing development officer, said: “Our kayaking courses are all about youngsters enjoying themselves and are designed for those of all abilities.”

The course costs £40 per person and there will be opportunities to carry on kayaking at no extra cost when finished.

The courses will run throughout June, July and August. For more information call 01698 402060, or e-mail [email protected].
