Kids celebrate 12th birthday with special date

TURNING 12 is a big deal for most youngsters as it is the last year before they officially become a teenager.

But for two local children, the day was extra special as they both turned 12 years old on the 12th of December, 2012.

Kilsyth Academy pupil Melissa Swanson turns 12 today (Wednesday) and will be celebrating with her parents Linda and Tom.

Melissa, who lives on Belmont Street, is planning on a trip to the cinema with friends.

Proud mum Linda said: “It was actually Melissa who pointed out to us the significance of the date, we had not realised until she said. It does make it special.”

Meanwhile, Cumbernauld lad Aedan Grimshaw, who attends Our Lady’s High School, is also turning 12 today (Wednesday).

Aedan will spend his birthday go-karting.

The News and Chronicle would like to wish both Melissa and Aedan a happy birthday.
