Kilsyth care home hit by virus

A KILSYTH care home remains under quarantine lockdown following an outbreak of the winter vomiting virus on Easter Sunday.

Craig En Goyne Care Home has been sealed since April 8, when cases of vomiting and diarrhoea were first reported.

An NHS Lanarkshire spokesman said “We have provided evidence-based advice to the care home and put in place the necessary infection control measures to prevent further transmission of the infection. This advice has included strict hygiene measures, isolation of cases, restricting admissions, transfers and discharges while the outbreak is ongoing.

“We are monitoring the situation at the care home on a daily basis. The infection control interventions will be removed when 48 hours have passed without anyone at the care home experiencing symptoms.”
