Kilsythians’ official countdown to Christmas will kick off on Saturday, November 30, when the town centre lights are switched on.
Town Centre Activities Local will host the event in the Main Street, and they say that the annual Christmas lights switch on ceremony promises to bring plenty of festive cheer to Kilsyth.
The event starts around 3.30 p.m. and there will be a Christmas sing song.
And if you forget the words to some of your favourite festive tunes, do not worry as they will be on display on a large screen in the town centre.
Santa will be on stage shortly after 3.30 p.m. and he has asked Edward Reid for some help to get you all singing some classic Christmas songs to help countdown to the lights switch on which will take place at around 4.15 p.m.
A spokeswoman for Town Centre Activities Local, said: “The Christmas lights switch on marks the start of the
festive shopping period for the town centre.
“The businesses in the town centre will be adding to the festive feel by participating in a best dressed window competition.
“We look forward to seeing the entries and announcing the winner on the day of the switch on.
“Santa’s magic post box will be there on the day for the kids to post their letters to Santa, so don’t forget to bring along your letter and make sure you add your address so Santa can write back to you.
“There’s a lot going on so come along, support your local town centre and join in with some Christmas cheer.”
