Kilsyth Library events

Kilsyth Library is hosting a series of Friday afternoon events designed for retired people.

All events are free and held from 2pm until 3pm.
Next up on Friday, September 12, is a “get to grips with tablets” event offering the chance to get advice on how to use tablets and e-book readers, with some iPads available for people to try.

On September 19, October 17, November 14 and December 12 there are meetings of thelibrary’s resident book group, which meets every fourth Friday and reads a wide variety of books.

On October 3 is an exhibition called “Up the Dancing” with a selection of memorabilia and photographs from the dance hall days.

The event on October 10 is similar, except the focus is on the golden age of cinemas across North Lanarkshire.
On October 24 is another exhibition, called “Games We Used to Play”, with photos and examples of old playtime pursuits such as gird and cleat or whip and peerie.

The event on October 31 is called “Stretch ‘n’ Flex”, a taster session offering a chance to learn some gentle and fun dance styles.
