Kilsyth Primary says goodbye

Kilsyth Primary bade a very fond farewell to its head teacher last week but not before giving her a splendid send-off.

Christine Anderson (60) has been at the helm for nine years and her colleagues have been arranging a host of celebrations for her, including a top night out at the Westerwood Hotel.

Mrs Anderson was also given a cash gift from the school and splashed out with a beautiful designer handbag and Jersey Pearl earrings.

Ironically the popular head teacher was unable to attend her final day at the school as it was her son’s graduation but when the News & Chronicle paid her a call the day before, she spoke with real affection about her time at the school.

Presented with a cake bearing the motto Let’s Party she said: “That’s my message to everyone! I have had a wonderful time here and I want to thank everyone at the school for all their wonderful gifts.

“I’m going to miss everyone and I also want to say it has been an absolute privilege to work here,’’ added Mrs Anderson.
