Kilsyth’s Burngreen is site of three arrests

A car theft in Kilsyth has resulted in an arrest after officers on a routine patrol became suspicious.

The police were in the Burngreen on Monday, July 20 around 9.35am when the conduct of a man in the park aroused their suspicions.

Realising he was being watched, the man made a run for it but officers soon caught up with him and it emerged he had a stolen car key in his possession.

This led to a missing Nissan Duke being traced in Lennox Road.

The man was charged with reset and taken into police custody. He was expected to have appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court at time of going to press.

Meanwhile an unrelated drugs arrest was made on Friday, July 24 after police stopped two men whose car was parked at Burgreen Library

Police have confirmed that two males who are 19-years-old and 20 year-old were arrested after being found in possession of Class A and B drugs at 10.20pm
