Lesson inpolitics forCarbrainyoungsters

PUPILS at a Cumbernauld school got a lesson in politics when they visited the Scottish Parliament recently.

MSP Jamie Hepburn welcomed primary pupils from Carbrain Primary School to the Scottish Parliament for a tour of the building and question and answer session.

Mr Hepburn arranged a guided tour of the Scottish Parliament for the group, and then met the pupils in the public gallery of the chamber for a question and answer session.

The pupils asked Mr Hepburn questions about his work, ranging from the daily procedures of parliament to current issues.

The visit followed Mr Hepburn’s visit to Carbrain Primary earlier this month.

He said: “It was great to meet the pupils and staff from Carbrain Primary, and to give them an inside picture of how Scottish Parliament works. I was happy to answer their questions, and hope they enjoyed the trip to the Scottish Parliament. They are of course always welcome to return.

“I am always delighted to welcome groups or individual constituents to the Scottish Parliament and I would like to remind anyone who would like to visit parliament to contact my office to make such arrangements.”
