Local primary school impresses top-level delgation

CUTTING-EDGE methods pioneered in Banton could spread all across the United Kingdom – after a top-level delegation popped in to view a groundbreaking alfresco play scheme.

Banton Primary played host to a 52-strong study group – some of whom had travelled from points as far away as Stornoway and Derby to see how pupils are making the most of their outdoor surroundings via the Natural Play Project.

Head teacher Louise Duncan said: “We heard about this visit before the summer holidays and we have been working up to it. The visitors just loved it. They thought that the school had a fantastic ethos and were very impressed at the way that our space was used creatively.”
