Lotto boost for Banton group

A BANTON group which promotes the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle has received a cash boost from the Big Lottery Fund.

Banton Healthy Lifestyle Group were awarded £2,222 to help them continue to run their operation.

Awards for All, which is supported by The Big Lottery Fund, is the National Lottery’s small grants scheme which gives out grants of between £500 and £10,000 that make a big difference across Scotland.

An Awards for All spokesman, said: “There’s a fantastic range of projects being awarded funding this time around and it’s always surprising to see how diverse the applications can be.

“It’s easy to see what difference Awards for All can make to communities the length and breadth of Scotland.

“The programme exists to help groups do things they would otherwise be unable to do, and for relatively small amounts of money. This latest batch of grants showcases the range of applications we get, all of which are putting something back into their communities.”

The group (pictured right) meet in Banton Community Centre and were delighted with the cash.
