Lotto boost for local groups

Thousands of pounds of lottery funding has been injected into two local organisations.

Jump Gymnastics Club in Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Primary School both received a share of £1.7 million, which was donated to 250 groups across the country.

The money came from Awards for All, which is the National Lottery’s small grants scheme.

Funding comes from three distributors including Creative Scotland, the Big Lottery Fund and sportscotland

Grants of between £500 and £10,000 are given out.

Jump Gymnastics Club received a cash boost of £9,500, and they will use the grant to develop the skill levels of current members.

The club also hope to increase the membership by purchasing matting and quality sport specific gymnastics equipment.

Kilsyth Primary were awarded £7,478, and the school will organise a series of events designed to help parents and pupils develop new skills in ICT technology and mathematics.
