Man in court on mum death crash rap

THERE is an update from the other side of the world on a tragic event which sparked a fund-raising drive at Cumbernauld Rugby Club this summer.

We revealed how local couple Alison and Craig Ogilvie from Craigmarloch had hired the venue to raise cash for a Canadian-based trust, formed after the death of Craig’s cousin Charlene Reaveley (30).

The Scots-Canadian mum-of-four was killed in an alleged hit-and-run crash near Vancouver as she helped victims of an earlier smash, including a 26-year-old nurse who was also killed. Now court proceedings have started against the man who is accused of causing the deaths, Corey Sater (37). He has denied a string of charges including causing death by dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drink or drugs.

The Ogilvies have since emigrated to Vancouver. They help with Charlene’s children, aged two to 11.
