Man stabbed

POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a man was stabbed several times.

A statement issued by Strathclyde Police said the 32-year-old victim 'suffered several puncture wounds to his body after being attacked with an unknown implement'.

The attack took place on the grass area near Park Lane, Kilsyth, at around 10.45pm, on Monday, May 31.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to Monklands General Hospital where he was treated for injuries including a collapsed lung.

Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information about it to come forward.

The attacker was a man believed to be in his is late 20s and over 6ft tall.

He was wearing a dark jacket with goggles on the hood and white striped bottoms.

Police enquiries into he attack are ongoing.

Constable Kay Elliot, of Cumbernauld Police community safety department, said: "We would appeal to anyone who may have information as to the identity of this man, or who may have any information relating to this incident, to contact CID immediately."
