More information on Abronhill death

Reports that a man’s body had been found in fields near Forrest Road around lunchtime yesterday were quickly confirmed by the police.

Although enquiries are still at an early stage, a spokesperson has provided an update.

She said: “A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death. Police are treating the death as unexplained and a formal identification has still to take place. Enquiries are continuing.’’

Officers are still to reveal the identity of the deceased.
