A report outlining the petition was submitted to North Lanarkshire Council’s planning and transportation committee for consideration.

The report states that, “Inchwood Road provides access to Inchwood Court and Inchwood Place all of which serve residential properties. The current parking provision is made up from designed parking areas at each road and three right angled parking areas on Inchwood Road. There are a total of 113 properties served from the roads and a provision of 85 vehicles assuming the bay widths are 2.5m. This amounts to a 75 per cent parking provision for the area.”

The report adds, “At present indiscriminate parking occurs on Inchwood Road, Inchwood Court and Inchwood Place which can lead to congestion along the lengths of the roads.”

Two potential areas were identified for additional parking at the start of Inchwood Road and between 6 Inchwood Court and 12 Inchwood Road. The council, however, said they will take no action.
