More time for Tryst swimmers

LEISURE bosses have partially increased access to the Tryst Centre’s pool after controversial opening hour changes came into play.

The News and Chronicle has been inundated with complaints from swimmers – some of whom are travelling as far as East Kilbride to go for a dip.

This followed a shutdown in public access to the popular 25 metre pool which has been shut for five hours on weekdays since January.

North Lanarkshire Council’s Leisure Trust said that this was in accordance with a drop in usage at the pool – but the new rules led to claims that they were simply cashing in.
