A VERY public pat-on-the-back was given at a national event last week to those in Clydesdale working to help our youngsters meet their full potential as adults.

It came from the area’s MSP Aileen Campbell, who is the childrens’ minister in the Scottish Government.

It was in her ministerial guise that, at the Scottish Parliament, she launched her government’s Youth Work Strategy, aimed at increasing support for the 73,000 youth workers around the country, many of them giving up their free time voluntarily to enchance the lives and chances of the next generation of working Scots.
