Now that’s a Mother’s Day!

CUMBERNAULD’s Lianne Dyce was one of the first mums to give birth on a rather special day - Mother’s Day.

And it also saw her scoop a £100 gift card from Braehead Shopping Centre, near Glasgow.

But instead of treating herself, kind-hearted Lianne from Greenfaulds is going to spend the gift card on her new baby girl, Alannah and her five-year-old son, Ryan.

As a special treat for Mothering Sunday, Braehead gave out the £100 gift cards to the first three mums in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board area who gave birth that day, April 3.

And Alannah weighed in at seven pounds 11 ounces when she arrived at the Princess Royal Maternity Unit, in Glasgow shortly after midnight on Mother’s Day.

Lianne, a 32-year-old gymnastics coach, says: “This is a great prize and it was a big surprise when I heard about it.

“I’ll half the value of the gift card between the two kids.”

Braehead’s marketing manager, Lydia Brown said: “We wanted to make Mother’s Day a bit special for the first three mums who gave birth that day.

“Alannah is a lovely baby and what a kind gesture by Lianne to use the Braehead gift card to buy something for her two children.”
