Cumbernauld Gala Queen-to-be unveiled

NO WONDER the teen trio in our picture are all smiling - because all have a very special role to play in the highlight of Cumbernauld’s social calendar.

The girls will be swapping their Cumbernauld High School uniforms for regal finery on July 14 - for they will make up the royal delegation at Cumbernauld Gala Day.

Heather MacQueen will be crowned Gala Queen and Heather Perrie and Jenna Beth Meikle will be her princesses at the giant town centre event.

The young ladies will be conveyed round the centre by a horse and trap in an ambitious procession - then Queen Heather will be crowned by last year’s queen, St Maurice’s High School pupil Sophie Hinshelwood.
