Cumbernauld students hit the right note for Sport Relief

LOCAL students have recorded a charity single for Sports Relief.

A team of events, music and sports students worked together to produce a cover of Queen hit Don’t Stop Me Now. which goes on sale this Friday (March 23).

Events students Paul McArdle, Ian Ralston and Sammie Cowie, under the name Team Purple Cobra, ran an online poll to find the college’s favourite sports anthem.

Some 40 sports students then performed the winning song, with lead vocals delivered by Gary Flint, Patrick McCabe, Andrew McNamme, Calvin Wallace, Ross McConville and Kiefer Holdsworth. The final recording was produced by music students.

Purple Cobra team leader Paul McArdle said: “It is great that everyone has got involved with the charity single which will raise money for such a worthy cause.”
