Students’ learning curve celebrated

The event, at the Croy Miners’ Welfare facility, recognised the achievements of those who took part in the Coalfield Regeneration Trust-funded “Lifelong Learning and Community” programme.

This term, courses included a Health and Safety Executive approved First Aid at Work certificate, a Royal Environmental Health Institute for Scotland Elementary Food Hygiene certificate and Computing for Beginners.

An additional award was presented to six young people who worked hard to help organise three community events for youngsters in the Kilsyth and villages area.

The group thank their partners at North Lanarkshire Council Community Learning and Development, namely Aileen Bissett and Caroline Simpson of CRT for funding the programme, the participants and tutors who attended the courses and all the staff and volunteers at Croy Community Centre for their hard work over the last few months.

The next session of courses gets under way in February.
