The event held on Saturday, August 18, was organised for member Anne Marie Hodgson who regularly attends spin classes.

Hourly spin classes were held between 9am and 4pm, and members were asked to fork out a £5 donation per class.

Paul Finnigan, leisure and golf manager at the hotel, said: “We have done a row-a-thon the last few years and always had an excellent response but I can’t believe how much we have raised from this event.

“We are still collecting and we are hoping the final figure is closer to the £1,000 mark.”
