Carol and Alex have three children - Karen, John and Julie, and five grandsons - Grant, Adam, Josh, Jack and Cameron.

Carol and Alex love to travel, and have been on holidays and cruises all around the world.

They attribute their enduring love and success of their marriage to the fact they are always busy thanks to a large number of friends and busy social life, as well as having their family around them.

Many of those friends and family joined Carol and Alex in marking the anniversary with a party at the Burroughs Club.
