On Friday the organisers confirmed Deone would be on the judging panel at the grand finals being held on Friday, September 23 at the Athena in Leicester.

Deone said: “I am very much looking forward to it. Jake Quickenden is also on the judging panel this year. I have been lucky enough to judge other pageants before in the past but of course never Miss GB so this will be amazing especially since I was one of the contestants stood on the stage this time last year.

“I will be looking for someone that I think embodies all the qualities that it takes to be Miss Great Britain. Think of it as a job, I want someone that cares about the duties at hand, who is willing to work hard, be challenged but also loves the organisation and what we do as well as having the beauty.

“I have already been looking at what all the lovely finalists have been getting up to on the lead up to the Grand Finals as I feel this will be important and will also help to show their personalities, chosen platforms and create a picture of who they are before getting to know them better at the Finals and making the big decision at hand.”

In one of her final engagements as Miss Great Britain, Deone will set aside the usual glitz and glamour to take part in Pretty Muddy, an all-female obstacle course race held as part of Cancer Research UK’s Race For Life event at Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park on Saturday, September 17.

Deone will make an appearance on the stage before slogging through “brilliantly muddy” 5K race. She has set up a donations page on JustGiving, see https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/deone-missgb
