Pet goose death sparks warning

A CONCERNED resident has warned that motorists travelling between Kilsyth and Kelvinhead are putting lives at risk by disobeying the speed limit.

Karen-Claire Voss, of Gateside Farm, fears for her safety whenever she has to walk along the grass verge of the A803 to catch a bus.

Those fears were raised recently when her neighbour’s pet goose had to be put to sleep by a vet after being injured by a car in a hit-and-run incident.

Karen-Claire said: “A few of the cars obey the speed restriction, but most of them bomb down that stretch of road.

“Human beings will say it’s only an animal, it’s not that important, but it could easily have been a child from one of the houses.”
