Photographers in Cumbernauld and Kilsyth urged to enter exhibition

2020VISION’s Young Champion, Katrina Martin, has been out in Cumbernauld obtaining photographs for the media-based conservation project since January.

She is currently organising an exhibition to showcase her work and would like the town’s residents to get involved.

All you need to do is explore Cumbernauld with your camera and take a picture of the town’s links with the natural world.

The top five images uploaded to the 2020VISION – Cumbernauld Flickr group will be printed and mounted for display within the exhibition.

Of the project Katrina says: “2020VISION is a valuable initiative, with the UK’s best photographers currently working to capture images portraying the important links between the restoration of healthy ecosystems and the well-being of people.

“Cumbernauld’s urban environment interspersed with greenspaces and nature reserves, as well as its involvement in the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s Living Landscapes project provides a fantastic opportunity to attain such photographs.

“I have already seen some beautiful images submitted by the residents of this town.

“I am eager to view more contributions showing what Cumbernauld’s wild areas mean to you”.

Submissions must be uploaded by September 16, 2011.

The exhibition will take place at Palacerigg Country Park from October 1 to 9, 2011.
