Plenty of pounds for Pudsey

STAFF at North Lanarkshire Council welcomed a ‘cuddly’ celebrity this week, who was in town to collect a charity cheque from the local authority.

Pudsey bear, star of BBC’s Children in Need, made the special trip to collect a cheque for £8,229.03 towards this year’s appeal.

The money was raised at North Lanarkshire Council’s 17th annual Burns Supper, which was held earlier this year.

He said: “The monies raised will help to support and improve the lives of children who are ill, disabled or in need of specialist care and attention.”
