Police in hunt for tattooed attacker

POLICE are on the hunt for a thug with a distinctive tattoo on his neck following an attack on a 21-year-old man.

The thug struck just after midnight on Saturday, May 1, while his victim was waiting for a taxi outside Craigmarloch Lodge, in Auchinbee Way.

The attacker was accompanied by a group of around five men.

They were last seen heading off in the direction of Tesco.

Police say the victim was left badly shaken by the ordeal, but was able to provide details of the tattoo and a description of the attacker, who had a slim build, dark hair and was wearing a pink jumper with a grey collar.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 23-year-old man was mugged at the rear of Carbrain Primary School, in Millcroft Road, and had his mobile phone stolen.

The attack took place around 1.20pm on Saturday, May 1.

The suspect is described as being around 5ft 9ins, with dark brown hair.

He was wearing a dark hooded top, blue jeans and white trainers.
