Police need your help to catch footbridge louts in Cumbernauld

Officers are looking for witnesses amidst fears that a life could be claimed on the road, following a sick craze in Carbrain.

This follows several reports of teenagers congregating on footbridges and throwing objects over a barrier towards moving cars below

It is thought that those involved could be as young as 12.

The latest recorded incident took place at 4.50pm yesterday (Tuesday) when two male suspects were seen pitching a heavy object from the Lye Brae footbridge.

It then struck a the front of a moving vehicle travelling towards Kildrum.

Thankfully no-one was injured but police fear that the next target may not be so lucky as the conduct of the young thugs involved could easily injure or kill a driver or pedestrian.

The duo were last seen running in the direction of Glenhove Road.

Enquiries are continuing into these incidents and anyone who can help is asked to contact police on 101.
