Police probe after man hurt in ‘slashing’

POLICE rushed to two separate incidents on the SAME street just after New Year celebrations in Kilsyth.

They firstly attended Howe Road in the town following reports that a 26-year-old man had been assaulted.

The man received a laceration to the stomach following the assault which happened on Tuesday, January 1, at around 1.30am.

He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where his condition was described as not life threatening.

He received a number of stitches to the wound.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old Kilsyth man was knocked down by a car on the street minutes later at around 1.40am.

The road accident happened on Howe Road near to its junction with Murray Avenue.
