Cops have issued a warning to those taking part in the annual Boyne celebrations across Lanarkshire.
The County Grand Lodge of Central Scotland will parade in Coatbridge on Saturday, July 6, and other smaller parades will take place across the area.
The Lanarkshire Police Division are reminding locals of the likelihood of travel disruption throughout the area, and issuing a warning that antisocial behaviour, drunkenness and disorder will not be tolerated.
Chief Superintendent Nelson Telfer, divisional commander of Lanarkshire Division, said: “During all the parades taking place, my officers will be focusing on violence, disorder and antisocial behaviour which can be caused by a small minority of those that come along to watch these events.
“My officers will not tolerate anyone who is acting in an unacceptable manner and will deal with them robustly. My message to those coming to support the parade is simple, don’t bring alcohol and don’t participate in any sort of antisocial behaviour.
“If you do, you will be reported, arrested and or could find yourself spending the rest of your weekend in a cell.”
