Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East’s former MP has a new job in pensions

Former Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East MP Gregg McClymont has a new job.

The former academic who served one term at Westminster has been appointed as Head of Retirement Savings at Aberdeen Asset Management.

The Edinburgh-based post will see Mr McClymont draw on his role as former Shadow Pensions Minister.

Mr McClymont said: “Following a fascinating and hectic five years in politics and pensions, I’m delighted to be joining a great Scottish company with global reach and reputation.

“This is a crucial moment for pensions and savings. The end of compulsory annuities poses a huge public policy challenge.

“Success depends on individuals having access to high quality, easy to understand income and savings at a fair price. I look forward to helping AAM play its part in helping savers succeed in this new world.’’

John Brett head of Global Distribution said: “We’re delighted Gregg has agreed to join us.

His appointment is intend to further strengthen further our commitment to meeting retirement needs of investors.’’
