A Labour councillor has expressed his delight on the new Labour leader because he was among those who voted for him.
Councillor Bob Chadha has told this newspaper that he has even taken the step of writing to Jeremy Corbyn and his deputy Tom Watson to send his congratulations.
The councillor, who is alone in declaring who he voted for in the election said: “I voted for him because I believed he would inspire new politics and provide alternative strategy from past failures.
“I hope he and his newly elected shadow team start work on promises they have been making to Labour members and the electorate.’’
Mr Chadha also admitted that he voted for Kezia Dugdale in the recent Scottish leadership elections.
