Quarry set for repair
CLIMBING routes on Auchinstarry Quarry will soon be repaired.
The disused quarry has long been popular with Scottish climbers, and North Lanarkshire Council has been responsible for safety checks at the site since 1996.
The most recent inspection found a number of problems, particularly stability of the rock at the promotory area, so part of the rock face was sealed off until the best way to fix it could be agreed.
