Roadworks on A702 cause commuter chaos

Commuters in the Biggar area were furious to find that planned roadworks to lay a high-friction road surface on the A702 meant that a single carriageway both north and southbound led to severe delays this morning.

Traffic Scotland had promoted the roadworks on their website, which they say were necessary for reasons of road safety.

Drivers will be pleased to learn that the works are due to be completed today.
