Rotary, Steady, Cook hot stuff!

THEY say food is the way to a person’s heart, and budding young chefs proved that by letting their imaginations run wild to come up with a Valentine’s Day themed menu for an annual competition.

Kilsyth Academy pupils cooked up a romantic two course meal for the second annual Kilsyth Rotary Club Young Chef Competition.

Their brief required them to also come up with interesting romantic names for their dishes.

And winners Eilidh Hunt of 3T and Rachel Hogg of 3HL did just that with Italian Love Triangle and Love Mess.

The judges Michael Leslie, of the Coachman Hotel, and Alex Graham said all the dishes were of a high standard.

Rotarian Pat Docherty, who organised the contest with Lorna Crawford, said: “This year the competition was superb. The judges said the standards were exceptionally high.”

Kilsyth Rotary Club wish to thank Craig en Goyne Nursing Home for donation of prizes, the Millennium Hotel who provided the food and The Coachman who hosted an evening for the winning dishes to be enjoyed by members of the club, winners and their parents.
