Santa pays an early visit to Abronhill

A KEY event in Abronhill’s social calendar went ahead without hitches this year - after having to be cancelled THREE TIMES last year because of poor weather!

Abronhill Regeneration Forum’s Christmas Fayre saw Santa take time out from his mammoth schedule to greet the young ones - at Abronhill Community Centre which was absolutely teeming with revellers on Saturday.

The News understands that Santa has been fully updated on what the young team want for Christmas - and that he knows the way back to Abronhill when the big day dawns! There were the usual stalls of mouthwatering goodies and potential Christmas gifts which helped volunteers raise the grand total of £400 for the group’s pet project of a new playpark.

Co-ordinator Francine O’Donnell said: “It went really well and was really busy this year. Now that the fayre has taken place, I think that everyone really feels that the run-up to Christmas is now underway!’’ .
